Multimedia Platform is a customizable engine composed by several FireWorks (GPP) and SideWorks (DSP), integrated with I/O interfaces. It can be used for audio and video processing, computer vision, or any DSP application.
SideWorks™
Sideworks™ is a patented reconfigurable architecture ideal for multimedia, communications and DSP applications in general. Using our proprietary tools, each Sideworks instance is designed and optimized for a specific application.
FireWorks™
The FireWorks™ is a 32-bit 5-stage pipeline modified Harvard RISC architecture featuring specific DSP instructions. Includes instruction and data caches, providing a good performance using limited hardware resources.

Audio Encoders
Coreworks provides audio IP cores for encoding audio streams in real-time. The table below lists some pre-defined products, but other combinations of formats with different number of channels are also available upon request.
Our audio IP cores include the encoder software and the Multimedia Platform, a customized hardware engine able to support single or multiple audio streams, which also includes a latency controller to synchronize multiple sources (e.g. audio and video).
The Multimedia Platform uses our proprietary SideWorks™technology to obtain high performance, offering low energy consumption and small silicon area, when compared to other solutions based on GPPs or DSPs.
In SoCs, the upgrades are limited to software/firmware updates. However, the use of the SideWorks reconfigurable architecture leads the upgradability to a higher level, making the hardware also "upgradable".
