Audio Sample Rate Converters

The CWda5x family consists of asynchronous Audio Sample Rate Converters (ASRCs) IP cores. These cores are used to interface digital audio equipment operating at different sample rates.

All versions support 2, 4, 6 or 8 audio channels. The input channels must be synchronized at the same sample rate and clock domain, and are converted asynchronously to the output sample rate.

These IP cores need two clock signals: one clock is synchronous to the input signal and the other clock is synchronous to the output signal. Input and output clock signals need not be related since the cores perform asynchronous conversions.

The ASRCs need the output clock signal to have a frequency of 64x, 128x, 256x, 512x or 1024xFSout to perform computations and to output the samples at rate FSout. The factor 64, 128, 256, 512 or 1024 is defined at pre-synthesis.

The CWda5x family supports a comprehensive set of useful/standard interfaces, namely, Parallel, Parallel TDM, I2S, Serial TDM and SPDIF-AES3.
